Terms of Service

Last updated: 7 October 2026

These terms govern your use of Track your skills at trackyourskills.com and app.trackyourskills.com (the "service"), operated by Eleni Nigussie. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

Track your skills lets you create an account, optionally connect third-party work and learning tools (Canva, Figma, GitHub, GitLab, Linear, and Notion), and see a Skill Report mapped to the ESCO taxonomy, plus Portfolio summaries of work you choose to include. FigJam boards are read through the Figma connection. You can grant a recruiter by email. After they log in they can see the project title, the short description, the tool link, and questions written when they open a project. The service is provided as a personal skill profile. It is not a university, employer, or government credential.

2. Your account

You must provide a valid email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account, including API tokens you create. You must be at least 16 years old. Notify us at eleni.nigussie04@gmail.com if you think someone else has used your account.

3. Third-party integrations

Connecting a tool is optional. You authorise us to access only the data needed for that integration, using the scopes shown on the provider's consent screen. You must have the right to connect that account and must follow that provider's terms.

For Canva, the integration is read-only. We request design:content:read, design:meta:read, and profile:read so we can list designs you own and show which Canva account is connected. When you choose a design for a Portfolio project, we read its type and a short excerpt of the words on the pages. The PDF used to read those words is discarded and not stored. We do not change anything in your Canva account. Use of Canva through our integration is also subject to Canva's API terms. You can disconnect Canva at any time from Sources.

For GitHub, we use the OAuth device flow and request repo and read:user. GitHub shows repo as read and write access to repositories you can access. We use it only to read: your login, recent repository activity for the Skill Report, and, when you pick a repository in Portfolio, a summary of that repository (description, a README excerpt, file and folder names, dependency names, and pull requests). We do not push code, open or edit issues or pull requests, or change repository settings. What we store is described in the Privacy Policy. You can disconnect GitHub at any time from Sources.

For Figma, we request read scopes only: current_user:read, file_metadata:read, file_content:read, file_dev_resources:read, and file_comments:read. We store your handle or user id. We do not list your teams or folders. A file name and time are stored when Figma sends a file update. When you pick a file in Portfolio we also store a summary of that file (page and frame names, structure counts, a short text-layer excerpt, dev-resource names, and short comment text). If the file is a FigJam board, that excerpt includes notes, shapes, and table cells. We do not export images or change anything in Figma. Details are in the Privacy Policy. You can disconnect Figma at any time from Sources.

For Notion, we use a public connection. You choose which pages to share. We read those pages only: title, URL, and last-edited time for the Skill Report, and, when you pick a page in Portfolio, up to 6,000 characters of its text and links found in it. We do not read comments or email, and we do not create or edit anything in Notion. A recruiter you grant sees the page title and link, not the page text. Details are in the Privacy Policy. You can disconnect Notion at any time from Sources.

For GitLab, we request read_api and read_user. We use them only to read. We do not push code or change project settings. What we store is described in the Privacy Policy. You can disconnect GitLab at any time from Sources.

For Linear, we request the read scope. When you pick an issue in Portfolio we store a summary of that issue, including comments other people wrote. We do not create or edit issues. A recruiter you grant sees the project title, the short description, and the link, not the stored issue text. Details are in the Privacy Policy. You can disconnect Linear at any time from Sources.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Skill matching

Skill names, XP, and related totals are estimates from the activity we store and automated matching against ESCO. They are for your information only. They are not a certified qualification, hiring decision, or guarantee of competence.

6. Your content and our rights

You retain your rights in data that comes from your account and from tools you connect. We do not claim ownership of your Canva designs, your Figma or FigJam files, your Notion pages, your Linear issues, or your GitHub and GitLab repositories and code. You grant us a limited licence to store and process the data described in the Privacy Policy so we can operate the Skill Report, Portfolio, and related features.

The Track your skills name, app, and related materials are ours (or our licensors'). You may not copy or reverse engineer the service except as allowed by law.

7. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. That policy is part of these terms.

8. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features (including integrations) without notice. The service is provided without a guaranteed uptime. We may update these terms; the date at the top will change. If you continue to use the service after an update, the new terms apply.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger zone. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms, abuse integrations or the API, or create risk for us or other users. On deletion we remove personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for data from third-party APIs, for skill-matching accuracy, or for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim (currently the service is free, so that amount is zero), except where the law says we cannot limit liability (for example death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply. If a court finds a part of these terms unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
